Acquisitions Manager (Nationally based)

500 new stores in just twelve years, 1000 new people in one. It’s fair to say we’re growing fast! In fact, we’ve doubled in size in the last five years. Our stores are springing up all around the country – now no-one is ever more than half an hour away from their nearest Screwfix. Whether it’s finding new property or making sure that the existing estate if looking fresh, you play a critical role in the growth of our business.

The Acquisitions Manager role:

When it comes to property, you’re our subject matter expert! It’s your job to manage all of the strategic planning around new trade counters, news sites and new store formats. You’ll manage a team of Assistant Acquisition Managers, whose job it is to select, negotiate and co-ordinate acquiring new properties. We anticipate opening another 60 stores per year for the next 4 or 5 years in the UK alone, not to mention the store refreshes every year to 2 years, it’s fair to say our Acquisitions Manager has their work cut out, making sure that our properties are in the right demographic, location, within financial requirements, making sure that we’re negotiating the best deals.

The skills you need as an Acquisitions Manager:

When it comes to commercial property, you know all of the ins and outs. You’ve got ample experience in the mid-level commercial property industry. You’ve either been an in-house Property Manager previously or you’re an industrial, retail or high street agent. You’ve managed a team previously and when it comes to building relationships with your stakeholders, you have a natural charisma that gets people on-board. When negotiating you’re a force to be reckoned with and you have the knack for getting people to come around to your way of thinking.

You’ll be spending your time split between Head Office and out in the field, so be prepared to be on the road at least 2 days a week.
