Due to our continual growth, ARM is looking for a number of exceptional engineers to be part of a new Functional Test team within our CPU group. This is an exciting opportunity play a pivotal role in shaping our software BIST team, helping to develop solutions for the next generation of products.

The CPU team in Cambridge has produced some of the company’s most successful products with processors designed by this group being shipped in billions of designs in use around the world today. This team has been responsible for developing processors from high-end A-class parts such as the Cortex-A53, one of ARM’s first 64 bit processors, through to microcontrollers in the M-class series such as the Cortex-M0+.

For this role we are looking for Software Development Engineers who are experienced in developing low-level software such as Software Test Libraries (STL) to be used in functional safety applications within the automotive and industrial segments and beyond. The successful candidate will be working on generating highly optimized code that provides additional diagnostic coverage capabilities with minimal run time and memory footprint requirements as well as the associated APIs and framework.

The responsibilities with this role will include working within a structured process development environment as defined by functional safety standards such as ISO26262 and IEC61508.

Job RequirementsEssential Skills and Experience:

Understanding of the fundamentals of computer architecture and micro-architectureExtensive knowledge of assembly language and C/C++Experience of RTL design and debugPractical experience of working on microprocessor designsDesirable Skills and Experience

Experience of developing and delivering software BIST code, ideally for CPU designsExperience of verification testing using assembler.Experience of fault coverage, fault simulation and DFTExperience of ISO26262 and/or IEC61508 functional safety standards and associated certificationARM assembly languagesPlease note that we may be recruiting multiple positions at various levels against this vacancy.
