Employer Description My client are a global provider of IT solutions to the insurance and financial services industries with over 30 years' experience. The business currently run successful Apprentice schemes in partnership with QA and with your help, we hope to continue with this. Job description My client, a leading Software firm are looking for a Resource Planner Apprentice to kick off their career within Project Management while receiving world-class training from QA Apprenticeships. The business have offices throughout the UK with this particular role based in Solihull, West Midlands. Responsibilities - Provides a resource planning and sourcing service to company managers, capturing demand requirements, matching and allocating against available core and non-core resources to achieve the effective and efficient use of resources across the organisation - Facilitates resource prioritisation and contention resolution - Maintains the companies resource demand plans - Maintains the company schedule of activities for a pre-determined group of people - Identifies resource shortfalls and proposes sourcing solutions as appropriate - Manages the maintenance of firms skills matrix to provide valid inputs to resource sourcing decisions - Maintains the company contractor and third party sourcing plan and drives the requirement for campaigns - Prepares person profiles and supports requesting managers in the candidate selection process - Maintains the firms capability development plan and works with HR to deliver training for staff - Monitors the performance of resource third parties and works with the commercial team to improve the service and relationship - Produces resource management information such as bench time, utilisation vs allocation levels, permanent vs contractor ratios into a dashboard as required - Facilitates the provision of non-core resources through third party suppliers to meet demands - Monitors day rates for non-core resources and escalates issues if rates are outside market norms Qualities/ essential requirements - Ability to take initiative and establish own objectives and priorities - Experience in resource planning and demand forecasting - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with senior managers - Strong problem solving skills - Attention to detail - Negotiation skills - Demonstrates a clear understanding of the relationship between own area of responsibility and wider company Desirable - Experience of working within a PMO environment - Good MS office skills including MS Project Desired Qualification - An A Level or a Level 3 in a similar subject or holds an existing project management qualification Other Important information Working days/hours - Monday-Friday, 37.5hrs per week Benefits Potential for a full time role at the end of the Level 4 Apprenticeship with a full salary review, as well as further accredited training from QA Apprenticeships.
