Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for all mechanical design drawings and production documentation for a range of the companies exciting and unique products for the Retail and Rail markets. To provide accurate, detailed and timely manufacturing drawings/information, that considers the best manufacturing methods to enable products to be manufactured in an efficient and effective manner.

Key responsibilities include things such as -

  • To take ownership of the Design aspect of allocated projects ensuring drawings/information are provided to deadlines set.
  • Participate in Project launch meetings with other members of staff and interpret the client’s requirementsLiaise with manufacturing representatives to establish the required level of information for a projectInitiate Contract Design Reviews taking ownership of the decision process.Develop designs, giving due consideration to the estimated concept and best manufacturing methodsSource information from Client in a timely manner using Request For Information [RFI] procedures.Produce, store and issue drawings and supporting engineering information as per company proceduresProvide timely feedback to Contract Teams confirming progress of design, drawing development against programme, and advising any perceived risksPopulate the company MRP system with the required information [part numbering/routings etc]Key attributes for the individual cover -


  • An experienced Mechanical Design Engineer.
  • Working Knowledge of Solid Edge ST9 and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Minimum HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Design.
  • A committed individual.Willingness and ambition to grow with the company


    • Previous experience of Automotive or Rail interior design.

    • Previous experience of MRP Systems.
