Are you a Test Automation Engineer looking for a long-term career with a progressive company? We are working with an established and successful Insurance company to recruit IT professionals for permanent positions based on the outskirts of Swansea.
  • Responsible for the design and development of automated testing using Team Foundation Server as an Application Lifecycle Management solution and any automation tool approved by Client for functional automation.
  • Responsible for creation, execution and maintenance of automated scripts.
  • Creating metrics and increasing test coverage using the automated systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and develop automated test practices for all Clients required products using the selected Test Automation Tools.
  • Design and create test scripts using C# and/or VB.NET to address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability in preparation for implementation.
  • Work with the Test & Configuration Manager and colleagues to define process and strategy associated with automation.
  • Identify, analyse, and document problems with program performance, function, output, online screen, or content.
  • Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope/delivery dates.
  • Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
  • Review and advise on appropriate tools for test automation.
  • Assist with the development and deployment of the Clients Test Automation strategy.
  • Proactively consider IT security at all levels of the application lifecycle.

Product / Technical knowledge
  • Microsoft SQL server
  • Microsoft ALM Toolset
  • Commercial Test Automation Packages beyond Record and Playback
  • Working experience in designing automation framework
  • Experience in using Selenium testing tool

  • Strong communication skills with the drive and ability to exchange appropriate information with relevant people at the right time
  • The ability to look at issues from a broad perspective, to come up with imaginative solutions, and to identify innovative alternatives to typical, unusual or difficult situations or problems

Skills and Experience
  • Experience in the insurance / financial services sector is desirable
  • Expertise in SQL and Microsoft packages
  • Expertise in Commercial Automation Packages
