The Fee Earners role is to pursue settlement of pre-litigation credit hire files and ensure Client Guidelines are adhered to. It is important that the job holder can quickly review files and formulate an initial Strategy, commence early telephone negotiations with Credit Hire Organisations and liaise with Insurers where necessary.

Key Accountabilities

• Reviewing pre proceedings files, noting and abiding by Client Guidelines
• Formulating and implementing the initial strategy as agreed
• Undertaking telephone negotiations with Credit Hire Organisations
• Pursuing settlement as quickly as possible
• Liaising with Insurers where necessary
• Ensuring ‘actions’ are carried out as per tasks lists in the in-house Case Management System

Essential Skills and Attributes

• The applicant would be ideally have been working in an environment were they have been exposed to Claims management or analytical experience.
• Education – good standard of Education – at least 3 GCSE’s including Maths & English
• Ability to use own initiative as well as plan & prioritise workload
• Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
• Good telephone negotiation skills
• Ability to follow work processes and keep to strategy along with the ability to recognise when sensitivity and tact are required
• Ability to make decisions and remain calm when under pressure
• Good IT skills including Word, Outlook, and experience of a Case Management System preferred
