In line with our expansion, we have an outstanding opportunity for a Proposals Engineer to join our highly respected team. You will be responsible forthe end-to-end completion of high quality proposals, quotations, bids and tender responses, which are both technically and commercially compliant with clients’ specifications.

We are a highly respected and world recognised designer and manufacturer of power solutions for the Commercial, Aviation, Marine and Military markets with a global client base.

The Role

  • Receive enquiries directly or via one of our sales managers, technically evaluate the customers’ requirements, cost accurately the scope of supply and involvement required by the Company, and produce high quality quotations that meet the customers’ requirements whilst adhering to the Company's commercial policy.
  • Accurately interpret clients’ technical specifications and produce compliant technical proposals; offering more suitable alternatives where appropriate.
  • Accurately interpret clients’ commercial requirements and ensure any commercial or contractual risks to the Company are identified and mitigated.
  • Liaise with the Sales Director or Technical Director where necessary to co-ordinate the correct technical and commercial response to the client.
  • Liaise competently, confidently and promptly with all customers, developing good working relationships and attend to their requirements or requests efficiently and diligently ensuring that customers receive the highest level of customer service from all areas of the organisation.
  • Log quotations and manage follows-ups professionally. Provide weekly reports to the Sales Director highlighting probability and timescales for potential orders.
  • Work closely with the administration team to ensure all processes are followed.
  • Work closely with our technical team and project engineers to ensure the best customer focus possible.
  • Diverse role covering all aspects of the Powervamp product range.
  • The Person?

  • You have well developed interpersonal skills and have already proven that you can communicate effectively with the customer.
  • The successful applicant is likely to have an engineering qualification or background.
  • Experience with proposals, fulfilling tender specifications through to quotation stage will be an advantage.
  • Ability to use existing engineering knowledge to understand Powervamp’s diverse product range of power electronic equipment principally central battery systems for emergency lighting and ground power equipment.
  • Strong customer service skills are required.
  • Fluency in English is essential and a second language could be an advantage.
  • You will need to have the right of abode in the UK and a valid European passport is essential.
