The Role
When clients put their accounts in the hands of Armstrong Watson, they’re on their way to forming the foundations of a stronger, more efficient future for their organisation. Prepared by our expert teams and claiming all the available allowances to minimise their tax liability, we give clients practical, commercial advice - focusing on their future, understanding their business and helping them get where they want to be. Our team of professionals rapidly become trusted advisers for anything to do with the business, providing stability and growth. Due to our continued success, we are currently looking for a full-time Accounting Senior to join our expert team in Penrith.

Spanning a large geographical area, our client portfolio encompasses various agricultural and family businesses, including partnerships, sole traders and limited companies. The successful candidate will be liaising directly with clients to resolve routine queries, prepare accounts and draft tax computations ready for client interview by the Partner. Some of the work undertaken in this role will take place on client's premises and therefore some travel will be required.

An expert in your field, you’ll be comfortable in the knowledge as a full service Accountancy firm, we have a wealth of experience across all our departments including Tax Planning, Financial Services and Corporate Finance which you’ll be able to partner with.

The role carries significant scope for progression as well as the opportunity to become involved in the office’s business development activities.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • A working knowledge of using computerised accounting packages. Previous use of Xero is desirable as we continue to be committed to technological innovation.
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to build strong working and professional relationships
  • The successful candidate will be AAT qualified or working towards the qualification, with relevant experience working within an accounts office, including accounts preparation.
