GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Pricing Actuary, based in Glasgow, will be responsible for managing the profitability of a run-off portfolio consisting of a range of travel, credit, life, disability, dental and personal accident products. Further responsibilities include performing regular experience studies, insurance risk monitoring, reinsurance portfolio management and peer review of reserving and solvency II models, as well as providing general support to the actuarial manager.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

- Minimum 2 years post - Professional Actuarial qualification experience in the Insurance Industry.
- University degree in numerate subject
- Recognised Professional Actuarial qualification (for example FFA or FIA if UK qualified Actuary)
- Team working - internal/external
- Customer Focus - internal/external
- Regulatory awareness
- Knowledge of processes, procedures and systems
- Coaching skills
- Intermediate Microsoft applications - word, outlook, excel

JOB DESCRIPTION

- Manage the profitability of a diverse run-off portfolio: - Manage data requirements to support model development or projects to ensure that data is complete, accurate, fit for purpose;
- Developing, testing and documenting Actuarial models required for the on-going pricing optimisation of the portfolio;
- Portfolio consists of a range of products including: travel, credit, life, disability, dental, personal accident and hospital cash plan products. This is further split into group and individual schemes;
- Preparation of experience studies to enhance pricing optimisation;
- Manage implementation of pricing changes when approved;
- This role is responsible for making pricing and product recommendations to the board, taking into consideration commerciality, the regulatory landscape and Cigna's strategic direction.

- Enhance the insurance risk monitoring framework and lead regular reviews for board updates.
- Management and monitoring of the reinsurance program including profitability analysis and support for renewal process.
- Develop and maintain actuarial function for a business unit.
- Peer Review of reserving and solvency II models across a host of business units.
- Manage and develop a team of 2 people and work with the actuarial manager to ensure best practice is implemented across the department.
- Actively support the Actuarial Manager.
