Senior Systems Engineer / Weymouth

As a result of continued expansion, an extremely exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Systems Engineer to work for a worldwide market leading company working on the most advanced sonar project of its kind in the world.

You will need to be Security Clearable for this role

THE ROLE
You will provide requirements, design, verification and validation support to the assigned project. You will utilise your expertise in the current phase of the project, taking cognisance of cost and schedule constraints whilst ensuring adherence to processes set down by the Engineering Manager.

You'd be responsible for System Design and Analysis activities including:

• Elicit / refine / document Requirements
• Create Verification Statements for requirements
• Perform Systems Analysis to derive function, performance and interface requirements to satisfy the system requirements
• Perform System Design activities to ensure that the system architecture is compatible with the baselined product, is consistent across all subsystems and that the system design will meet the system level performance requirements
• Maintain the design of the system including the specifications and interface requirements specifications as required
• Develop and maintain system level architecture design documents as required
• Perform technical risk analysis as required
• Plan, document and execute Verification and Validation activities
• Tasks as directed in support of the project
• Understand the systems engineering methodology, tools and procedures required to complete the systems engineering tasks assigned
• Identify project and product risks and escalate using the project’s defined processes
• Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system
• Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
• Participate in major reviews throughout the lifecycle (e.G. PDR, CDR, TRR) as well as participating in peer reviews

SKILLS REQUIRED

• You will be well versed in Requirements Management.
• Ideally exposure using DOORS
• Requirements Traceability
• Developing Systems Level Design Documentation
DESIRABLE
• Some exposure to Sonar / Radar / Combat Systems / Defence
• Proven knowledge in Integrating Large Systems
• Developing Integration Procedures
• Acceptance Testing
• MS Office
• SVN (Version Control)
