For nearly 100 years, New Era Fuels has provided an unrivalled, nationwide delivery of red diesel and other fuels using their own fleet of brand new tankers; tracked with the latest technology. Due to stretching growth plans, we have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Director to join the team of Directors and contribute to the next stage of the company's evolution.
A full job description will be provided to all applicants but the role will involve playing an active part in formulating and achieving the strategic business plan; managing the accounts and other support functions; ensuring robust financial management and reporting; liaising with suppliers, the bank, HMRC and other regulating bodies; developing strong processes to manage and monitor stock position; and ensuring the company meets its financial goals.
The 'fit' is critical and therefore we are looking for someone who has:
  • Senior finance management experience in a logistics and/or supplier environment.
  • A happy disposition, positive, can-do attitude with the desire to find the solution to any problem.
  • Experience of working within a team of Directors who have in depth industry knowledge and experience.
  • A track record in successfully managing a finance team.
  • A very good understanding of the underlying systems and controls required to secure sound and effective financial management.
  • Experience of financial analysis and preparing and communicating management reports to non-financial professionals that aid the management of the company.
  • Strong numerical and IT skills with advanced experience of Microsoft products. A love of software and belief in adopting technological advances to improve efficiency and information.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to challenge, persuade others and provide feedback in a positive and collaborative manner.
  • The ability to work and thrive in a busy and time sensitive environment, demonstrating initiative, enthusiasm and the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with colleagues, suppliers including the ability to explain sometimes complex financial matters in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to work flexibly, under pressure and to tight, regular deadlines
