As Product Manager you will own and manage the full product life-cycle from developing new services, managing in life services and retiring services.You will have good market knowledge of your product set and be responsible for evaluating and assessing customer requirements and ensuring these requirements are aligned and translated into profitable services which meet their business requirements. You will drive the road map and working with the Head of Network Design, set the product strategy aligned to the Network Business Unit strategy.Continual service improvement and customer experience are key to the role, ensuring our customers are able to consume services from Claranet easily and efficiently.The key job functions for the Product Management role are:Responsibility for the competitiveness of the Claranet UK Network Business Unit service portfolio.Responsibility for the full product life-cycle of services.Responsibility for managing the existing catalogue of services and where required making services end-of-life.Manage the improvement and development of services working with teams across the company.Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Solution Architects and Operations to determine the services which need to be evolved or removed.Assess technology partners when determining the best approach to providing or improving services.Contribute and recommend services for the Network Business Unit road map.Share best practice with other Group companies.Ensuring customer experience for consuming Claranet services is forefront of service design.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPortfolio ManagementResponsibility for the full product life-cycle of existing Network Business Unit products and services within your portfolio, including:Tracking Claranet’s competitors and vendors to understand our competitive challenges.Recommendation and coordination of selection of potential services for development.Project Managing service development/management initiatives directed by the Head of Network Design.Ensuring successful launch of services to the company through a strong communication strategy and training.Identify training needs and coordinate/ deliver training of staff between disciplines related to new product sets as they emerge.Ensure product releases and enhancements are delivered on time and within budget.Managing service end-of-life process.Support other members of the Product Management Team in developing service descriptions, SLA documentation, etc. as required.Define and own the full service experience for these services, from the ordering, pricing and request process, through build, management and in-life evolution.Develop and own pricing and quoting tools, ensuring all products can be priced accurately and consistently.Work with 3rd party vendors on new products and products updates.Financial Management and reporting:Track financial status of services and work with finance to ensure new services are correctly recorded and to develop new financial reports as required.Report to the Head of Network Design monthly against existing product/service performance, progress of ongoing projects and new introductions to the product register.Develop business cases for updated services and report against the progress of these once launched.POSITIONS SPECIFICATIONSEssentialEducated to graduate level or equivalent, ideally in a business or technology related subject.Strong technology skills with security services such as Firewalls, 2 Factor Authentications and VPNs.Good knowledge of networking services such as ethernet and broadband.Product Management experience in managing complete cradle to grave product life cycles, including requirement definition, service definition and in life management.Strong project management skills and experience.Strong analytical skills.A good understanding of Claranet’s target markets and the range of products available.Clear and demonstrable attention to detail.Strong written and oral communication skills including presentation skills.Commercially aware with a demonstrable interest in the business.Flexible, creative and innovative with a pro-active disposition.Work on their own initiative.Full driving licence.DesirableExperience in managing pricing/configuration tools.ITIL understanding.
