Hairdressing Assessor/Trainer

Salary: £12.07-£12.98 p/h plus holiday

Contract: Part Time and Permanent

It is essential that you hold a Level 3 qualification in Hairdressing or relevant subject, along with a Level 2 qualification in English, Maths and ICT. You are required to have an assessing qualification.

Major Tasks:

Plan training sessions for students enrolled on a range of full and part time hairdressing courses across multiple age categories and levels as agreed and timetabled.
Carry out assessment of student occupational competence to meet awarding body requirements and complete relevant paperwork.
Provide additional training as required on an individual and/or group basis which engages, inspires and prepares students for the world of work.
Deliver an appropriate blend of learning opportunities, making effective use of technology within the classroom.
Support the department to generate online resources through the Salonability programme or similar online systems.
Encourage students to develop independent learning skills.
Comply with the college's maths and English strategy, embedding both subjects into your session planning.
Provide effective pastoral support to students and maintain accurate records of all contact.
Monitor students' attendance, progress and achievement on hairdressing courses and prepare relevant reports.
Contribute to course evaluation, quality assurance and self-assessment systems.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments within the hairdressing industry through CPD and other activities.

Please note an enhanced DBS will be required for this role. The successful candidate is required to meet the payment of this DBS check which is currently £44.

On appointment, you will be placed at the salary point aligned to a number of factors which include, but are not limited to, qualifications, previous relevant experience, current salary and market forces.
