Global Banking and Markets Regulatory Compliance Cross Products Assistant Manager
A leading Global Financial Institution is seeking to employ a Global Banking and Markets Regulatory Compliance Cross Products Assistant Manager, based in London.
Hours 35 per week/permanent.

The role holder will pro-actively provide day-to-day advice/deal with queries from the business on meeting global regulatory requirements and standards to assist in the effective management of regulatory risks within the GBM RC remit as well as having an active role in assessing how regulatory change impacts the business and support the business in implementation. They will help to support GBM RC governance activities and work closely with compliance colleagues operating within the GBM RC team regionally and globally, to ensure cohesiveness. The role holder will be setting policies and standards to cover compliance issues and advising line management of the impact on their businesses and functions of applicable external or internal regulations, as relevant to role remit. They will also be supporting line management in discharging their responsibilities to comply with applicable regulations (e.g. by reviewing new products/activities for compliance implications, identifying potential rule breaches, enforcing changes to relevant manuals to reflect regulatory requirements, monitoring the businesses for adherence to the regulations and providing input to audit and training programmes), as relevant to role remit. They will be part of a Global team that provides direction and support to the GBM RC team specific activities globally across Global Businesses, Global Functions, and jurisdictions within the second line of defence, in order to obtain reasonable assurance that the business is operating in line with relevant laws, regulations, codes and Group Standards within Regulatory Compliance.
The role fosters a positive culture of compliance by working proactively with the business line/global functions/operations/services/technology, Business Risk and Control Management (BRCM), and other compliance professionals to ensure that best practices are followed in accordance with the applicable laws, rules, regulations, and internal policy.
The successful candidate will be a graduate and will have the following:
- An understanding of the global financial services industry preferred but not essential
- Understanding of GBM products.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills (strong written and oral communication skills demonstrated by a history of writing reports and making oral presentations to senior staff).
- Experience of managing small projects and involvement in major change initiatives
- Ambition to enhance compliance knowledge and skills in a rapidly changing and dynamic Markets environment.
