This UK based employee owned business provides engineering, design, analysis, project expertise and specialist handling and access equipment to international marine, offshore, subsea and renewable energy markets. Job Summary:
Reporting to the Newcastle based Commercial Director, the role's function is to support the Marine Equipment team to secure work through successful tendering and proposing, manage new and existing client accounts, responding to their needs, and promoting the business at events and meetings. A large percentage of the role will involve writing engineering technical specifications for bids and tenders to an extremely high standard.

Key Responsibilities:
- Understand client requirements and work with the team to develop these into contracts, by:
- Critically assessing clients' needs
- Preparing technical and commercial proposals bids and tender documentation
- Working alongside design engineers to ensure client requirements are fully understood and accounted for in design
- Pricing work in accordance with company standards in a way that can be presented to and approved by the executive management team quickly and efficiently
- Understanding the company's in-house engineering capability to produce realistic schedules
- Identifying opportunities to develop the business in new and existing markets
- Identifying, engaging and developing productive business relationships with companies and individuals that they have not previously worked with.

The knowledge, qualifications and personal attributes required::
- An engineering degree, ideally Mechanical, and experience of working in the marine industry/environment, ideally you will have experience in offshore construction and may have worked offshore
- First class written communication skills for producing bids, tenders and reports using Microsoft Office suite
- Up to date knowledge of potential changes in the marine industry
- Strong attention to detail, able to produce high quality and accurate documentation
- Smartly presented and able to represent us at conferences and exhibitions
- A consultative, confident and professional approach to developing client relationships demonstrating strong listening and questioning techniques.
