This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing, dynamic company. They are currently seeking an experienced Engineer who will further strengthen their team based in Barnsley.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the design and development of multiple turbocharger projects. This involves the development of individual components through to full turbocharger assemblies. This multi-disciplined role offers the opportunity to apply your engineering skills including design, development and project management taking projects from inception through to production launch.

Responsibilities include:

- Management of NPD development projects
- Liaising with oversees operations and suppliers to ensure any project related technical issues are resolved.
- Preparation of engineering 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings
- Support the supplier development processes
- Ensuring all designs/drawings/specifications/documentation is produced in a timely manner and to the required quality levels
- Operate measuring equipment to aid the design and product inspection processes as required
- Plan and execute product testing to complete the design verification and product validation elements as identified within the NPD process
- Maintain project information using NPD database

The successful candidate will be either an experienced engineer, qualified to a minimum of HNC (or equivalent) in an associated engineering discipline or Degree qualified with at least one year industry experience.. You should also have:

- Strong experience in product design and development
- Good knowledge of 2D/3D CAD modelling ideally Solid Works and/or AutoCAD
- Knowledge of precision measurement/GD&T and general engineering principles
- Good understanding of following product quality processes
- Commitment to success and excellence
- Passion for product development & R&D
- Organised, good planning skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent team working skills
- Commercially savvy

It would be desirable if you also have knowledge of mechatronics, a minimum of 2 years involvement with product development, have an automotive engineering industry background and have gained previous experience developing turbocharger or engine products.

Salary dependant on experience.
