A leading Global Financial Institution is seeking to employ a UK FCC Sanctions Manager, based in Birmingham

Hours 35 per week/permanent.

The role holder will be part of a dedicated FCC Sanctions Team responsible for the ultimate decision on potential payments, customer and trade matches.


The role holder will provide support in respect of Trade, Economic and Financial Sanctions, and global risk management framework to meet legislative and regulatory requirements for the business, Group-wide. The role holder will help develop, communicate and implement strategy, standards, controls, global systems and policies in relation to sanctions for businesses, globally.

The role holder will also provide support for the collation of potential breaches of sanctions from across the Group for businesses, review of the reporting made and appropriate escalation to both Global Head of Financial Crime Compliance and the Global Head of Sanctions.

They will work with relevant contacts in the Business and Global Functions to ensure consistent and effective application and implementation of, and controls to evidence adherence to, relevant sanctions related global standards, policies and procedures Group-wide.

The role holder will lead and encourage constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork. Maintain a robust and efficient control environment to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with the Bank’s policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise. The role holder will lead the implementation and oversight of policy and governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance.          

The successful candidate will be a graduate and will have the following:

  • Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. sanctions and Anti Money Laundering (AML).
  • Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. business activities for a large global banking group with diverse operations from retail banking, wealth management, commercial banking, global banking, investments, transaction services, asset management, private banking and insurance.  
  • A broad understanding of financial budgets/statements/models, with experience of analysing data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting.
  • A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes.
