The Position:

They now have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Technical Support Engineer to join their team who will have the opportunity to work in an award winning and highly customer centric business in the heart of York's city centre. Reporting to the Technical Support Supervisor, you will be responsible for the performance, availability and development of the IT infrastructure, whilst also having a close working relationship with the software development and business analysis functions. Some of the activities that you will be responsible for include:

- Provision of support on all technology used within the business
- Help to maintain effective operation of the Company's communication systems
- Assist in the testing on new systems and end user training.
- Create and maintain suitable documentation and log files to support the business.
- Identify solutions to resolve technical challenges affecting the business.
- Improve business processes and the use of technology.
- Actively research new technologies and software in the support of the business
- Promotes IT and its benefits across the organisation.
- Proactively inform and educate the business on the best use of IT and the Company's systems.
- Deliver working solutions in time with accurate estimates and business requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Requirements:

- Excellent customer facing skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in windows and its support (versions: 7,8 & 10)
- Basic understanding of Apple IMac and handheld devices.
- Knowledge of MS Office 365 applications.
- Demonstrable understanding of the principles of networking (AD & Group Policy) and corporate security, including Firewall & Web Filters.
- Troubleshooting and basic maintenance of commercial office multi-function printers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This exciting position requires someone with a passion and motivation for IT. You should have excellent communication skills with a sharp and methodical approach to problem solving.
