A leading Global Financial Institution is seeking to employ a Trading – Associate Director, based in London.

Hours 35 per week/permanent.

Competitive salary offered.

The role holder will be expected to provide timely and accurate dealing services for clients in the assigned area. They will manage the firm’s inventory and trading risk under supervision and as assigned in compliance with all applicable regulations within a given business area.


The individual will be responsbile for maintaining various risk positions and providing liquidity and trade ideas, while trading within set limits to help the trading team achieve a given revenue target.  They will provide consistent pricing and market making to the sales force and target clients.


The role holder will monitor daily electronic trading activity and determine where certain trades should be routed for execution, and then review all activity for accuracy of account information. They will ensure all trades are booked to the front office position keeping system on the day they are executed and reconcile daily and/or monthly reports, as assigned. In addition, the role holder will be expected to continuously reassess risks associated with the role and inherent in the business; taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.


In addition to the above, the role holder will manage the processes, infrastructure and resources needed to deliver agreed team plans and targets; identifying and implementing improvements and collaborating with colleagues to maximise end to end integration, effectiveness and efficiency. They will maintain a robust and efficient control environment to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise.


The successful candidate will be a graduate and will have the following:

  • Ability to work within a Trading Team, in a matrix structured bank
  • Effectively warehouse and hedge market risk
  • Understand the regulatory requirements for trading in different markets
  • Degree level education focusing on Mathematics and Engineering is required, strong preference for Master’s degree education
  • Proven experience trading Emerging Markets FX Options with a Global bank
  • Proven experience market-making to both corporate and institutional customers
