Mechanical Design & Build Contractor who specialise in the London Commercial Fit-out sector are seeking an individual who has a background as a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their flourishing business, working along the incumbent Mechanical Design Director with the view of taking the lead role when he retires. Employed as a Mechanical Design Manager you will work closely with the director ensuring the design team delivers quality, cost effective solutions in a timely manner.
Whilst employed as a Mechanical Design Manager and overseeing a team of engineers and draughtsman you will become the technical lead and be expected to take a hands-on approach to the design of HVAC solutions with duties incorporating the following;
• Survey and identify systems within existing buildings
• Produce feasibility studies for buildings.
• Advise clients of systems options, costs, benefits and concessions.
• Create works programs and project critical paths.
• Partner client to project manage installations
• Give full technical back-up to site, client and design team.
• Assist in finance and budgeting of projects.
• Develop working relationship with client through trust and knowledge.
• Understand industry changes and develop our working practises in-line,
• Understand the workload, delegate and seek necessary resources and management to undertake work.
• Manage, delegate and develop operatives of all levels.
To be considered it is essential you are highly experienced as a Mechanical Design Engineer within the Building Services Sector, and will have a background working for either a consultancy or contractor. Ideally you will also possess project experienced gained in the commercial and residential sector with mix use developments and apartment blocks being highly beneficial.
In return, the successful individual will be provided with the opportunity to progress to divisional management level within the next 2 years. You will also be offered a salary up to £65,000 + package with the expectation this could increase to over £75,000 upon progressing to Divisional Manager level.
