ICT First Line Support Technician


Working on a temporary contract for our Bury St Edmunds based client, you will be responsible for providing first line service desk support:

Logging and triaging service requests on behalf of the ICT team by telephone, email and through the service desk management tool-set
* Where possible, providing a first line fix on application and desktop equipment based requests
* Attending ICT team meetings to build an understanding of internal ICT systems
* Contributing to standard operating procedures, adhering to the ICT document control process
* User provisioning/de-provisioning in accordance with notifications generated from the HR system and as advised in Helpdesk requests
* Carrying out password resets, permission changes and general user account maintenance within Microsoft Active Directory
* Performing minor repairs on desktop ICT equipment e.g. replacement/upgrade of components
* Providing desktop support including re-imaging of desktop computers
* Preparing new equipment for deployment as directed by the ICT Manager and ICT Security and Desktop Coordinator
* Providing application support to end users as trained by the ICT Application Support and Training Coordinator
* Escalating training needs to the ICT Application Support and Training Coordinator through ICT Helpdesk service requests.
* Assisting the team with office equipment moves and relocations as required
* Maintaining accurate hardware inventory records and assist in end of life decommissioning processes
* Following the established backup regime, change backup media, label and store as directed
* Referring escalated issues to 3rd party suppliers, chase responses and actions
* Providing administrative support to the ICT team as required
