Job Title: Senior Support Worker/Team Leader

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £17,043 - £20,461 (DOE)

QualificationsPrevious experience of working in the Care sector or a secure environment is essential. NVQ 3 in health and social care or willing to complete.

Our client supports men and women with complex needs and challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

* To support the Unit Staff Team in the management and development of a high quality service for our clients, undertaking delegated supervisory management responsibilities
* To provide therapeutic and personal care to our client group.
* Ensure the protection of clients from significant harm, by exercising vigilance, observing changes in client's behaviour or appearance, and complying fully with the Vulnerable Adults' policy.
* Assist clients with self-care skills including eating, drinking, washing, bathing, using the toilet or managing incontinence, dressing and undressing, mobility and transport, getting up and going to bed, and once trained, administration of medication
* Participate in the assessment, development, implementation and review of placement & support plans for clients.
* As a key worker for named clients, taking responsibility for the development, implementation, monitoring and review of placement & daily records plans.
* Participate in the assessment, development, implementation and review of programmes aimed at enabling clients to manage their challenging behaviour, ensuring full compliance with clients individual behaviour support plans.
* Act as Shift Leader, ensuring all duties are carried out to a high standard
* Allocate work to teams and individuals, agreeing objectives and work plans, assessing the performance of teams and individuals and giving appropriate feedback to individuals and management
* Maintain effective staff discipline, operating at all times within LSHG's Disciplinary policy and procedures.
* Support new staff during their induction periods and assist them to become familiar with their role and the needs of the client's, then feedback relevant and accurate information regarding performance to managers
* Undertake any other duties consistent with the post.
