We have an exciting opportunity for carers to assist and support a fun loving and intelligent young woman, who has a complex neurological condition, in attending the University of Winchester, where she will be studying English Literature with Creative Writing.

Candidates living in the Southampton, Winchester areas would be ideal for this role. University is the next chapter in this female's adventure. During term time she will be living in halls of residence, and is looking forward to experiencing every aspect of student life. You will be accompanying her every step of the way, whether that be attending lectures, socialising with friends, going home to her family in Worthing, or taking a trip abroad.

You will need to be able to blend in well with university students, whilst staying focused on her needs.

Essential Criteria - You must have a young outlook on life, be flexible in your thoughts, adaptable to any situation, self-motivated, and reliable. A sense of humour and fun loving outlook on life is a must, as well as ideally having a full manual driver's license.

This role will include providing personal care, medication administration, physiotherapy, domestic tasks and social support. Previous care experience would be helpful but not essential as full specialist training will be given. Shift Pattern: 12 hour day shifts and 12 hour waking night shifts

You will be working within a team providing care and support all year round. The shifts are on a rota basis and will include working some weekends and bank holidays.

Part time team members must be able to work 24 hours per week (2 shifts)

Full training will be given in all aspects of the care provision. But as well as the medical aspects of the job, you will be a companion as well as a care provider to this young woman.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who is thinking about going into the care profession, have just finished university and are taking a gap year, or simply feel like they have a lot in common with this young lady and are intrigued by this unique opportunity
