This is a key role delivering and creating market information programmes. Responsibilities include tracking and reporting on industry size, trends and performance. You will use the latest research techniques to profile and segment consumers and businesses and produce market research output for our members and media. The role holder will also play a substantial role in representing the voice of the organisation

Role Responsibilities:

* Design, deliver and analyse in-house market research and business intelligence projects in a wide range of areas, in particular into demand for new products, customer satisfaction, and developing B2B and consumer segmentations.
* Deliver the market information resources for its members,
* Assist in the management of the MI budget to ensure best value for money from research agencies are engaged
* Conduct or support any ad hoc analysis of survey research data, qualitative feedback from members or desk research
* Ensure that the above are produced in concert with other learning and business support services for members (especially conferences, training)
* Ensure the above is effectively communicated to members through the association's marketing programmes
* Record member contact ensuring that the interaction(s) and outcomes are input to the membership database to maintain records and reference member data
* Follow departmental process and procedures to ensure member expectations and agreed service level agreements (SLA's) are met
* Undertaking such other duties, commensurate with the responsibilities above.

Person Specification:

* Experience in a market research/ business analytics role at research exec/senior research exec level, either agency or client side
* Experience of using Google Analytics
* Experience of conducting quantitative analysis using cross-tabulations, pivot tables
* Experience of qualitative research (e.g. depth interviewing, focus group moderation)
* Market Research Society or Chartered Institute of marketing qualifications
* Experience of supporting product/category management or marketing communications roles
* An enthusiasm for gardens/gardening, the outdoor environment and contributing positively to it
* Demonstrable interest in future/emerging trends, business or corporate affairs and lobbying
