An experienced civil/structural engineer is required by a growing engineering firm as they plan for ongoing expansion and an increasing workload.

Employing over 250+ staff, this dynamic and energetic organisation and have been successfully expanding in recent years, and back up their innovative engineering solutions to clients with training and a working environment that brings out the best in their engineers to ensure the support and motivation exist to continue to deliver on projects to the highest standard.

Projects include an interesting variety of civil and structural engineering infrastructure, both new build and the repair of existing structures. The role will suit those seeking a challenging role that can deliver career progression in an expanding firm.

The role will require applicants to have the ablity to:

* To lead the design of civil engineering structures in a rail environment
* To design railway structures to Eurocodes, British Standards and railway group standards
* To lead others and undertake the inspection of civil engineering structures on site.
* To interpret engineering defects to existing structures and to produce technical reports to a high standard.
* To manage client expectations, attend project meetings with internal and external parties and manage project commercial activities.
* To manage and provide mentoring to more junior employees.

Key requirements:

* A minimum 2:1 (or equivalent) degree in a relevant subject.
* Experience of leading design teams in the design of railway and other civil engineering structures.
* A relevant professional qualification or extensive experience on a similar role.
* UK driving licence.
* A thorough understanding of engineering principles
* A demonstrably excellent standard of written and verbal English.

Salary will be dependent on experience but in the range of £40-50,000. There is a comprehensive and flexible benefits scheme
