A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join a privately-owned, award winning property solutions business based in Lincoln; focusing on retail, distribution and health developments. You will be responsible for providing specialist and expert knowledge with regard to Health & Safety compliance/legislation and to ensure that the company policy on Health and Safety matters is adhered to at all times.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within the construction industry and be suitably qualified with NEBOSH Construction cert as a minimum. Experience within construction would be a major advantage.
Must be open to travelling/ lodging away.
Objectives & Key Tasks
* Ensure that all H&S legislative requirements and industry standards are properly maintained and regularly updated.
* Sets & monitors objectives ensuring achievement or steering changes to ensure positive outcomes.
* Design, develop and implement Health & Safety initiatives.
* Ensure HSQE team are regularly updated on H&S issues in order that they can be communicated efficiently through the business.
* Ensure all accident or near misses are fully investigated in line with Company procedure.
* Monitor site visits and the quality of reports undertaken by the HSQE team on a weekly basis.
* Ensure that accident statistics are collated on a weekly basis.
* Ensure that all information for UKCG audits is collated on a monthly basis.
* Review and update the Company Health and Safety Training matrix on an annual basis.
* Ensure the workforce receives all relevant Health and Safety Training in line with Company policy.
* Produce regular reports on H&S issues for inclusion within monthly meetings.
* Communicate regularly changes in policy & procedures, HSQE initiatives by various needs including UKCG.
* Update Health & Safety policy following changes in legislation, company structure or after sufficient times has expired.
* Track record in influencing/evolving HSQE function across a multi-site/multi functional national operation.
* Provide leadership, coaching and development of management & HSQE team.

Duties & Responsibilities
* Work closely with the Insurance Manager on all insurance issues following accidents or incidents
* To maintain and update the company safety policy and procedures document on a regular basis
* Produce and ensure that the agreed annual Business Plan targets are attained
* Produce relevant written reports for both internal and external clients
* To represent the Company in any court cases in relation to Health and Safety
* Attend relevant internal company meeting as the representative of the Project Support Team
* To support the Project Support team in dealing with any actual or potential Health and Safety issues
* To act as the Company's representative on all issues of Health and Safety
* To build close and constructive working relationships with Sub Contractors and suppliers to ensure Health and Safety compliance.
* To build close and constructive working relationships with representatives of the Health and Safety Executive
* To be the first point of call to internal and external clients of all issues of Health and Safety
* To update the senior management team on all safety issues and accident trends
* To conduct regular safety inspections across the company.
* To regularly audit Health & Safety, Environmental and Procedures (Quality) in line with company standards.
