My client is a main contractor that offers a range of services covering all elements of interior fit out and refurbishment. Established in 1990 as a specialist contractor fitting out ceilings, partitions and associated items, their expertise has since developed over two decades to offer a range of skill sets, divided into three areas: Fit Out and Refurbishments, Special Works and lastly, In-House Ceilings and Partitions. Due to expansion they are currently seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor for an immediate start.

The Role - Project Quantity Surveyor

Reporting into the Commercial Manager, you will be expected to take accountability for the development, implementation of all pre and post contract strategies, commercial functions and contract reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities - Project Quantity Surveyor

* Reviewing contract documents, including bills of quantities and preliminaries.
* Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
* Advising on procurement strategy.
* Financial controlling accountability.
* Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks.
* Preparing and analysing tender returns.
* Providing advice on contractual claims.
* Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports.
* Re-measuring projects insuring they match with the Estimators bill of quantities.
* Overview of sub-contractor accounts.
* Managing valuation and sub-contractor invoicing.
* Needs to be aware of the different building contracts in current use.
* Performing risk and value management and cost control.
* Liaising with professional teams, especially quantity/building surveyors.
* Understanding and making sure health and safety regulations are adhered to.

The Candidate - Project Quantity Surveyor

* Ideally qualified chartered surveyor (RICS) or degree qualified.
* Demonstrate a solid track record of overseeing and delivering profitable commercial projects.
* Fit-out background from a main contractor.
* Be based local to the offices in Central London.
* Extensive knowledge of the Building and Construction Industry
* 3-10 years' experience working as QS on projects ranging from £1M-£3M.
* Ability to build relationships, internally and externally.
* Team Player/Flexible approach
* Proactive and accountable attitude
* Good communicator
* Self-motivated
* Strong business awareness
* Clean driving licence
