Our Client are a FTSE 100 Global Publisher providing business intelligence across industries related to Finance, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Telecoms, Energy, Media and Technology. Operating across 20 Countries with reported turnover in excess of 1.5 billion, they are currently looking to recruit a Venues Procurement Manager based out of the London Head Office. Key objectives will be to identify and secure key venues in the US for best in class event experiences

Reporting to the Executive Team, principle duties include;

  • Proactively engaging and managing internal stakeholders, building a thorough understanding of key venue requirements, event challenges and business objectives
  • Managing multiple sourcing projects, communicating and advising on progress and delivery timeframes
  • Business partnering with senior management and operational leaders to create a sourcing strategy that delivers unparalleled quality and service
  • Negotiating contracts and commercial terms with existing and new suppliers, in the best interests of the business
  • Producing accurate records and process documentation to align best practice across the procurement function
  • Researching new trends and industry information relevant to our needs
  • Understanding and utilising systems and technologies to drive incremental improvements

Key deliverables will include;

  • Supporting the plan to reduce the overall number of suppliers by consolidating spend with fewer, strategically selected vendors
  • Using the procurement process to deliver measurable, sustainable cost savings: manage execution of procurement strategies including supplier engagement during RFP processes and supporting supplier negotiations
  • Building excellent internal and external stakeholder relationships, acquiring trusted advisor status with wider event delivery teams
  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the KNect365 brand, event formats and delivery

Person Specification;

  • 2-3 Years’ experience in sourcing venues for large scale events (500+ attendees), knowledge of venues (hotels and convention centres) is essential
  • Working knowledge of US venue sourcing is both highly desirable and advantageous
  • An expert knowledge in venues, with the ability to advise key stakeholders on best locations/venues for specific events and challenges
  • A strong track record of having sourced goods and services from third parties, ideally within the events industry
  • Highly analytical, comfortable manipulating large volumes of data
  • Display excellent self-motivation and time management skills, with proven experience managing own projects
  • Tenacious and commercially minded, with a willingness to challenge current practice and convention
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
