Science Teacher required for ‘Good’ Mixed Secondary in Hackney

The candidate will be an enthusiastic classroom practitioner with the ability to teach across all Key Stages and the desire to attain the very highest standards in teaching and learning. You would be reporting to a supportive head of department and the right candidate would have excellent opportunities to develop their skills. The teachers’ career development and professional worth is valued enormously.

Science at this mixed academy school has a very high profile. Biology, Chemistry and Physics are all very popular choices for students at Key Stage 4 and 5 including the Access to Medicine pathway in the Sixth Form. The Science subject area also enjoys strong links with local primary schools and universities and benefits from a Clinical Skills Lab in partnership with UEL. 

To apply for this job, you must:

- Hold UK QTS, QTLS, or an overseas teaching qualification including degree
- Have good subject knowledge
- Have experience in teaching Science at Key Stage 3 & 4
- Have excellent class room management

- Prepare and deliver lessons to a range of classes of different ages and abilities
- Mark work, give appropriate feedback and maintain records of pupils' progress and development
