Our client, an International, forward thinking Law Firm, are looking for a Claims Handler to join their team in Central Bristol. The stylish office is located close to Temple Meads & on all major bus routes.

The role is Monday - Friday 9am - 5.30pm & you will receive a salary of £18,000 - £22,000 depending on your experience & brilliant benefits including: life assurance, income protection, group personal pension, childcare vouchers, season ticket loan (travel), mortgage advice, private medical insurance, ride2work, gym flex and holiday flex among others!

The Claims Handling team handles professional indemnity schemes on behalf of leading insurers, acting under delegated authority levels.

Claims Handling is a unique team which works closely with the legal teams and clients to provide an outsourced managed claims service. Working with the team leader and other team members, you will be responsible for completing administrative tasks which are vital for excellent service and efficient delivery of our service. Collectively, you will be responsible for building and shaping the team for the future, embedding principles of lean and efficient working, and establishing the culture, values and behaviours that make for an attractive and varied legal career.

Main Duties:
- Management of a caseload of professional indemnity claims handling matters within schemes managed by the team
- Managing certain Professional Indemnity Insurance matters under supervision of a Senior Associate
- Assisting the Legal Apprentices with certain administrative functions when required, including setting up new matters and dealing with invoices
- Delivering high quality and timely output to clients, ensuring high levels of customer service and alignment with agreed working practices

Previous Experience:
- Experience within the field of professional indemnity claims, particularly in a defendant representative capacity
- Litigation experience/professional negligence experience is desirable
- LPC qualification is desirable
- In-house insurance/Paralegal experience would be considered for the role
- Law degree or GDL (Desirable)
- Experience of case management systems (Desirable)
- Experience of conducting investigations into policy coverage, including potential fraud issues (Desirable)
- A good working knowledge of law firm operations and pressures; understanding the need for efficient, timely, cost-effective support
- Confident, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good knowledge and confident use of Microsoft office (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
