The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Creative Artworker to join our team at our headquarters in Poole.
This is a rare and exceptional opportunity for an artworker with a superb management style and a fantastic level of brand awareness to take on a new challenge with our amazing charity.
With over 150 years of experience behind us, at the RNLI, we boast the skills, equipment and in-depth expertise to be able to save thousands every year from drowning at sea. Now, it is down to you to paint a picture of us that drives engagement with our charity and enables us to continue saving lives into the future.
As a Creative Artworker, you’ll be joining our Creative Services Department and playing a leading role in the creation of beautifully crafted and engaging artwork which supports our message of safety in the water.
Specifically, you will lead a collaborative, proactive and multi-disciplinary team of Artworkers and creative professionals and will take responsibility for the quality and consistency of the artwork produced.
You’ll work alongside the Design Team and the Creative Brand Manager, co-ordinating departmental efforts to make best use of the skills available.
This exceptional role will see you stretching your creative muscles as well as utilising and developing great leadership skills and advancing your creative career.
Our teams of dedicated professionals act as the support mechanisms that enable our lifeguards and lifeboat crews to save thousands of lives at sea. Without your creative efforts, our materials which help generate revenue would not be as effective and without the generous donations of an engaged public, we could not exist.
So, is this the role for you? To be considered, you will need:
- Artworking experience across multiple platforms
- Experience of managing a team
- Experience in working closely with a design team to bridge the work between the design and artwork function
- An expert understanding of branding and identity, including brand architecture
- A strong level of experience in creating brand guidelines, including crafting print and digital creative assets
- High levels of proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
- Strong layout and typography skills
- A printing or design qualification or equivalent relevant commercial experience
Highly creative, ambitious and influential, as a Creative Artworker, you will need to be comfortable leading and providing direction, able to communicate confidently and happy to work as part of a team. A flexible approach is also key.
A printing or design qualification to higher national diploma, NVQ level 3 or degree standard (or equivalent) would be beneficial to your application.
Please note, the closing date for this role is the 30th July 2017. Interviews are scheduled to be held on the 10th August 2017.
Our staff and volunteers have been saving lives at sea without prejudice for nearly 200 years. We respect and value diversity of background, skills and perspectives within our teams, and consider it essential to help us deliver a world-class lifesaving service. We are an inclusive organisation and welcome applications from everyone. In addition to having the skills needed for the role, we also look for applicants who share our commitment to living our RNLI values (trustworthy, courageous, selfless, and dependable), and helping us work towards our goals of halving drowning in the UK and Ireland by 2024. This involves a growing commitment to preventative action, using our expertise to work in partnership with communities locally, nationally and internationally to prevent drowning.
