A fast-paced travel media company seeks Junior Content Executive to wave their magic wand over an array of written projects. Must possess motivation and initiative. Wackiness a plus.

*** OVERVIEW ***

The Junior Content Executive blurs the lines between copywriter/editor, content producer and administration assistant, working on six distinct brands right from idea through to execution.


A highly creative, multifunctional role within the Creative team, the Junior Content Executive will work side-by-side with the their fellow creatives (including Content, Design, Digital, Photography and Videography) and the, Marketing and Operations teams, demonstrating both a highly creative and obsessively accurate approach to writing and editing copy across various disciplines - including digital, multimedia, print and experiential platforms - alongside strong communication and organisational skills.


Liaise with Content Manager to understand and help execute the BLM editorial strategy
Assist with managing contributor relations and content schedules for all BLM blogs, including chasing deadlines and updating content schedules
Edit and upload blog posts for all BLM blogs, including picture research, picture editing, proofing copy, tagging and ensuring SEO requirements are met
Write in-house and event news stories for BLM blogs
Assist with keeping blog budgets and invoicing for copy submissions, helping keep up-to-date and accurate accounts as necessary
Assist with organisation of BLM print magazine, including creating and managing pagination, proofing copy, picture research and chasing deadlines
Assist with keeping magazine budgets and invoicing up-to-date and accurate as necessary
Contribute ideas for editorial content and research new contributors
Participate where needed in generating ideas to encourage BLM community to engage with editorial content both at events and throughout the year (e.g. installations, activations, direct mails etc.)
Where necessary, collaborate Work with and support the wider Creative team to manage ad hoc editorial projects
Keep up to date with industry trends, consistently feeding back to the Content team with new ideas and innovations to ensure our content strategy stays ahead of the curve


Support Senior Content Executive in writing creative copy for marketing and sales communications (e.g. websites, e-shots, PDFs, invitations, signage, social media)
Support Senior Content Executive in creating taglines, names and other branded copy for events and associated collateral, marketing materials, installations and activations
Proofread all marketing and sales communications for accuracy and readability (e.g. websites, e-shots, PDFs, signage, invitations, social media)
Ensure that all copy is of the highest editorial standards, written grammatically, with maximum impact and free from all typographical and other errors
Ensure all content is consistent with brand tone of voice
Interpret and ensure appropriate and accurate application of brand guidelines in the copywriting process


Participate where needed in developing brand and campaign story, tone of voice and aesthetic
Support Marketing team to ensure that the tone and aesthetics of marketing materials consistently mirror the brand/campaign story
Support Senior Content Executive in generating brand activation ideas across multiple platforms (including digital, multimedia, print and experiential)
Liaise with Creative and Operations teams and occasionally freelancers on collaborative creative briefs
Use Adobe Suite and other digital tools to fulfil some briefs
Background Knowledge & Experience
Degree in English Literature, Journalism or related
Thorough, almost obsessive understanding of punctuation and grammar
Evidence of thoughtful copywriting and editorial skills (e.g. portfolio, blog, published work)
Experience in writing to a brief
Eye for design
Understanding of and interest in brand storytelling
Keen interest in travel and the travel industry


Outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills
Strong research and journalistic skills
Highly creative and imaginative
Very proactive and a self-starter, unafraid to take the initiative
Ability and willingness to learn quickly
Accuracy, attention to detail and an eye for design
