Sponsorship Sales Manager - International Conference & Membership

Basic salary up to £40K depending on experience + Uncapped Commission

Based in Central London

This position would suit an experienced conference sponsorship sales professional with a successful track record in revenue generation & stable career history in B2B conference sales.

The opportunity

Working for a privately owned market leading international events & membership business who provide insight, information & networking opportunities to the global financial sector. The sponsorship sales manager role balances individual event sales with long-term strategic commercial development. The key element of this role is securing sponsorship revenue via the phone and through face-to-face contact with both new and existing global businesses. You will also have the opportunity to develop your experience and sell broader business products to vendors such as; membership, webinars, benchmarking, intelligence, white papers, advertising etc.

This organisation has a great culture & great people who support and encourage each other. The sales team is small offering each sponsorship sales person to generate high volumes of sponsorship revenue on industry leading conferences.


  • Achieving consistent sales, including meeting and exceeding set targets
  • Working with internal teams to maintain brand consistency and identify new event partnership opportunities from existing supplier base. Following up on sales leads passed your way.
  • Using your excellent working knowledge of sales, the sales process and business development to achieve targets
  • Build relationships with senior level external partners
  • Communicating at senior level with decision makers confidently
  • Identification of new sales opportunities
  • Ability to conduct consultative sales with a view to closing high value deals
  • Confidently sell sponsorship and associated products/services to clients

Your Experience

You will be passionate about developing your career in business development and focused on developing business and selling high value solutions.

  • You will have extensive commercial business to business sales experience gained in a commercial conference sponsorship sales position
  • Your experience will include the ability to effectively research, develop new business, manage & grow client accounts.
  • Excellent communication skills, over the phone and face to face, with senior decision makers
  • Ability to understand and assess client business needs and be able to develop creative solutions to meet their needs
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, time management and communication skills
  • You will be used to working to targets, deadlines and work as part of a team.
  • Ambitious, articulate and creative
  • Excellent work ethic and resilience
  • Strong business acumen
