An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Moulding Process Engineer with specialist knowledge of the medical device industry and manufacture of high complexity devices to join a rapidly growing organisation based in Norfolk. This is an exciting time to join a new department as they consolidate their position within multiple markets across their industry. 

The client is a manufacturer and designer of medical device components with numerous operations and office bases throughout the UK. In recent years they have diversified their service offering and are now looking to expand their Engineering function over the next 18 months.

The Moulding Process Engineer will hold responsibility for managing and competing activities associated with injection moulding machinery.  The role is all encompassing – the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and under your own initiative is essential.  This role not only focusses on continuous improvement but also new product introduction, validation, quality and all associated technical aspects.

Key duties associated with this role will include:

  • Holding engineering responsibility for the specification and purchase of new injection moulding machinery.
  • Providing commercially competitive engineering solutions (estimates/quotations) required to underpin opportunity evaluation within the department.
  • Providing specialist engineering knowledge to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute Injection Moulding related projects to agreed specifications and targets.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to both the Moulding department and working in conjunction with related discipline departments internally.
  • Assist in identifying emerging technologies and their applications within the business.
  • Management of Injection Mould machinery suppliers to ensure that value for money is achieved across the department.

The Moulding Process Engineer will have:

  • A thorough understanding of Mould Processes and Polymers
  • A minimum of HNC in a related Engineering discipline
  • Project management experience in the procurement of new machinery
  • The ability to plan and communicate with suppliers to ensure project objectives are achieved
  • A good understanding of validation requirements for Medical Devices
  • Experience of CAD would be a benefit
  • The ability to mentor or coach

Package

There is an excellent package on offer for this exciting opportunity. The salary is negotiable dependent on experience with future progression opportunities in line with company growth.

The company is also offering a relocation package for candidates with all of the requisite skills and previous experience within the pharmaceutical industry.

The working week is 37.5 hours, 7.5 hours per day.
