FTA are looking for an expert in all-things web, this role is responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of Freight Transport Association’s website(s), e-commerce site, the content contained within them and successful delivery of web-results against targets.


  • Project-manage and deliver the continuous development of FTA’s website(s) and associated e-commerce site, ensuring best-practice, compliance with relevant regulations, and relevant new tech is applied to maximise marketing efforts
  • Manage integration of various systems with the website(s) and e-commerce site, ensuring that results measurement is always possible (revenue and other results)
  • Build relationships with internal clients, identifying their differing objectives and how best to meet these within the context of the overall FTA brand and website best practice and work with product/service owners to ensure features and new innovations are reflected online
  • Responsible for owning, posting and keeping up-to-date all content on the website(s), amending supplied copy/images as necessary to ensure they are optimised for web in line with web best practice
  • Manage and develop the Digital Marketing Executive
  • Manage the implementation, tracking, measurement and reporting of key website metrics against targets, paying particular attention to growth of traffic, bounce reduction, lead-gen results and e-commerce growth
  • Take responsibility for continually improving and reporting on SEO for the website(s)
  • Implement dynamic capabilities of the website, working with the Marketing Team to maximise this functionality - use of decision trees a must
  • Collaborate with Marketing Team members to create an annual multi-channel content strategy and plan aimed at growing traffic to the website from digital marketing channels (social, email, PPC, display), driving lead-gen for the MRM team and growing e-commerce sales
  • Provide different target markets and types of customers with timely and relevant content
  • Develop creative assets for the website(s) and research material and write, edit and proofread copy ensuring accuracy
  • Ensure that FTA’s brand and identity is adhered to
  • Work with internal clients to source content for website(s)
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of relevant marketing agencies as directed
  • Effectively manage budget associated with website
  • Brief colleagues on web results and ongoing web developments
  • Be the point of contact for the website(s)
  • Collaborate with our PR and Events Teams to leverage content as appropriate for web/lead gen
  • Raise purchase orders and manage log to ensure timely payment of suppliers
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as required

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications - Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent marketing qualification
  • Previous experience of managing web projects and delivering web content
  • Proven experience of project managing and delivering continuous web developments and new website launches
  • Advanced CMS skills
  • Client management
  • Proven SEO management and improvement
  • Use of Google Tag Manager and Analytics and CRM for marketing reporting
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail with strong copywriting, proofing, and editing skills and the ability to make complex technical products and services sound simple, is a must.
  • Able to prioritise work on own initiative, working to tight deadlines
