An exciting new opportunity has opened for a senior legal cashier looking to take their first steps into management. This mid size UK law firm with modern and stylish offices a few minutes from Liverpool Street station, wish to hire a Cashier Team Leader to oversee a small London based team of cashiers whilst leading on all day to day cashier and accounts payable functions. Supporting the Finance Director on all operational finance duties, responsibilities include;

· Handling of all client and office ledgers

· Review and approve weekly vendor payments and expenses

· Manage Counsel payments, company credit card and key supplier relationships

· Ensure daily reports, checks and reconciliations are completed

· Monitor and complete the monthly bank reconciliations for the client and office accounts

· Review and manage the client account balances

· Approve electronic payments through various banking systems

· Mentor the accounts payable team to ensure they are appropriately trained and can grow and develop

· Assisting in the production and submission of VAT returns for the LLP

· Support day to day accounting

· Review, improve and document the accounting systems internal controls and processes

· Ensure finance policies and best practice principles are adhered to

· Organise team meetings, holiday and absence management and cover within the Accounts team

· Responsibility for SRA, Anti-Money laundering and Anti-Bribery compliance by the Accounts team and ensuring all staff are fully trained

· Other ad hoc projects as required

Skills required

· 5 years plus experience working within a law firm handling client account ledgers

· Experience within a Partnership is essential, proven ability to win the confidence and respect of Partners, colleagues and all levels of staff throughout an organisation

· Proven staff management skills and a pro-active approach to management and mentoring, able to work well with others even under pressure

· A team player who is well organised, has an excellent attention to detail and recognises the importance of completing work to a very high standard

· Experience of Aderant would be advantageous

· Ability to be adaptable and flexible to deal with changing requirements and timescales, and keen to take on responsibility

· Proactive in identifying opportunities, with the energy and enthusiasm to manage new initiatives, challenge the norm and strive towards excellence and innovation

· A positive solutions driven individual who is committed, prepared to use initiative and is heavily customer focused

· Highly proficient in Excel, with analytical and reconciliation skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines
