aspire cambridge ltd are currently recruiting for a Senior Analyst looking to work with a well established company based in Newmarket. Our client is an award winning provider of analytical testing, specialist testing and environmental monitoring services. An ideal candidate would an organised, results focused, self motivated Technician with strong chemistry knowledge, years basic lab experience and an aptitude for science to start ASAP.

Main duties:

  • Preparation of samples as identified from work schedules
  • Assistance in the generation of accurate and timely data in line with client expectations and UKAS Standards
  • Assistance in the maintenance of QC and sample data in an accurate and ordered manner in compliance with quality systems.
  • Assistance in maintenance programmes for the Departments specific analytical instrumentation and any other analytic al equipment used by the Department.
  • Maintenance, storage and labelling of adequate stocks of reagents and standards.
  • Consultation with the Divisional Manager when turnaround deadlines cannot be met with reasons and proposals to remedy the problem.
  • Consultation with the Divisional Manager when insufficient resources are available to fulfill the duties of the Department.
  • To comply with all the Health and Safety and ISO14001 requirements of your role, and perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Business.
  • To ensure lab areas and work surfaces are free from clutter and instruments are cleaned up.
  • To ensure that samples are returned to the appropriate storage area after testing.

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills & team player
  • Worked in a fast paced lab environment with a high volume of samples


  • Relevant instrumentation experience & knowledge of analysis – with experience of ICP-MS
  • BSc in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Forensic Science, Applied Science, Physics, Maths, Geochemistry

Start: ASAP
Duration: Permanent
Hours: Full Time – 9:00 am to 5:00pm Mon – Fri with 30 mins for lunch
Location: Newmarket, Suffolk
Salary: £22,540 – £23,190
