An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part Time Accountant to work for our well-established client based in Bournemouth, Dorset!

Location: Bournemouth, Dorset

Hours: Part Time, 20-25 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm, they are very flexible on the hours and days worked up to 25 maximum

Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 pro rata

Small office; 3 in total!

The reason for this vacancy is that one of the directors is taking more of a back seat. They deal with about 40 limited companys' accounts spread throughout the year.

They are a 21 years established family run business.

You will need to have a good knowledge of tax !!!

You should have either done this role in an accountancy practice or if you work in a company you must be doing all of the tax etc for that company.

6 months probation period.

Our client is seeking to add an accountant, qualified by professional body or experience, who is not only professionally capable but has an appreciation for our role working with clients to help them better understand their business and reach their personal and professional goals.

You will be dealing with anything to do with tax for company's right the way through from taking all the records through to producing the accounts for those companies.

The company would prefer someone qualified but would also look at QBE Qualified by experience!

20 days holidays plus bank holidays pro rata

You will need to avoid taking time off in January as the company shut down for Christmas so some holiday needs to be kept for then.

There is plenty of parking in the side streets behind the office!

Job role and responsibilities:

  • Production of limited company accounts - unaudited

  • Corporation Tax filings

  • Company Secretarial work for client companies

  • Meeting with current and prospective clients

  • No visits to clients

Additional duties, ad hoc basis, include but are not limited to:

  • Completing Self-Assessment tax returns

  • Administering and advising on PAYE/CIS

  • Completing VAT Returns

Skills and experience:

  • Experience with VT Accounts, Money soft Payroll Manager and PTP Tax & CT Platforms is not required, but would be advantage.

  • You will be confident dealing with clients, computer literate and able to demonstrate an understanding of the problems businesses face in an ever-changing compliance environment, including IR35, Auto-enrolment and Making Tax Digital.
  • You will have a good knowledge of tax.
  • The company would prefer someone qualified but would also look at QBE Qualified by experience
  • You must have dealt with IR 35 Auto enrolment Making tax digital
