Working as a Home Care Trainer within our branches in Lowestoft and Loddon, your main responsibilities will include supporting, organising and delivering the Company's training/development plan, including inductions for new team members and refresher courses for our experienced care team. You will ensure statutory and legislative requirements/standards are met and provide support and encouragement to all trainees during the training/development period. The role will also involve ensuring that all administration relating to training records is kept up to date.
Whilst we welcome applications from experienced Homecare trainers we believe having the right attitude and experience of delivering quality care yourself is more important than recognised training qualifications. Being able to support and coach people both in the field and in the classroom is essential. We will provide relevant training to achieve your PTLLS qualifications where necessary. If you are an experienced home care worker who has the ambition and personality to move into a training role then we will offer all the support, training and classroom materials necessary to deliver the Care Certificate in a professional and engaging way.
Key competencies and attributes for the role include a knowledge and understanding of the needs of service users and clients with complex care needs, dementia, learning disabilities or at the end of life; an even-tempered and patient nature; the ability to work on own initiative, with a strong sense of purpose and high standards of work; exceptional communication skills as well as the ability to develop good working relationships with the learners. Due to the nature of the work and the requirement to cover more than one location it is essential that you have a full driving licence and your own transport. Competent IT skills are a prerequisite.
