Business Development Director - Brand Design Agency
Our client is a dynamic and forward-thinking brand design agency. They have an impressive client base that includes Polo, Carlsberg, Clarks, and Minute Maid.
So, we’re looking for a Business Development Director to join the team - and we’re more than a little bit excited about it.
Why? Because for us, this is an absolute game-changer. In its simplest form - this role will work with our client’s Client Services Director and Founder/Creative Partner to set a focused marketing and new business strategy, and take ownership of its delivery. It’s a role anchored in driving awareness, and then driving conversion.
This will include; • Raising awareness of the business in a considered and targeted way, elevating reputation and driving prospects/inbound enquiries • Identifying target categories/sectors that ladder up to our client’s broader business objectives, and then focusing in on target brands and personnel within • Through cohesive, strategic storytelling and the right deployment of the broader team, deliver seamless conversion that turns identified targets and warm prospects into live clients - ownership that spans the entire?process from expression of interest through to signed contract • Day-to- day/organisational leadership of the function - taking annual marketing/new business objectives and targets, and translating them into actionable and measurable weekly/monthly/quarterly tasks • Ensuring that all prospects (from expression of interest to confirmed work) are properly resourced and planned for, facilitating seamless handovers into the business once the work is confirmed The aim is to make the very most out of the opportunity that lies in front of us, supporting all aspects of pipeline and working with all areas of the business. Therefore, it follows that we’re looking for someone who has not only great experience, but a real passion for marketing and new business. They’ll need a rounded set of skills; strategic nous, creative literacy, marketing savvy, detailed project and pitch delivery, macro understanding of sectors and markets, and clarity on our business - an excited and energetic storyteller with the ability to own and drive a plan with flair and professionalism.
The role has been established to ensure our client creates volume in the new business pipeline and drive growth - and in this sense, it’s about orchestrating a broader team to make the most of the skill sets at our disposal - from Senior Management to Creative, Client Services to Strategy. The role reports to the Client Services Director and has the full support of a brilliant and energetic Marketing Assistant to help deliver the marketing on a day to day basis. The successful candidate is likely a client service/account handler/marketing type (operating at Do you havelevel) who simply loves the relationship building and fast thinking that is needed at the new business end of the relationship. That said, we’re more interested in the person than anything else - a person that gets a real thrill from strategy, thinking differently and building relationships quickly through empathy and delivery on promise. The Role - what you’ll be doing: • Working with the Client Services Director and Creative Partner to create, own and deliver the marketing and new business plan • Full (supported) ownership of the new business conversion process • Creation and delivery of RFP’s, RFI’s, pitch documents and pitch assets • Leading pitches in a central role with support from a defined team depending on scale of task •
