Procurement Lead, EU - Ingredients, Directs, CO-Pack, MRO & Inidirects

Great package £80,000 to £85,000 + car allowance, bonus and benefits package

This is an exceptional opportunity within a FTSE listed, global FMCG with a prestigious household brand name to manage a team of procurement experts across Europe, but also looking after the bigger, strategic and complex projects. It has come about due to a transformation which is driven by the Global Procurement Director. The board in the company's US HQ are fully behind the change and expansion of the team after the realisation of how much benefit this new structure will create for the business.

Ideally this person will have come from a multi-national FMCG / F&B company that has team management experience, multinational sourcing exposure and a broad range of category experience (Categories managed, EU span: MRO, CO-Pack, Services, Food Ingredients, Directs, Packaging etc)

Role & responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and mentor a team with direct reports directly + matrix
  • Work with the Global Procurement Director to deliver the on-going team expansion and transformation
  • Implement strategic sourcing best practice within the existing team
  • Create and maintain good working relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels
  • Negotiate complex, business critical sourcing projects and implement key contracts
  • Ensure cost are kept low, implementing KPIs for best delivery, but looking after main suppliers
  • Design and deliver P2P strategic to create upmost efficiency
  • Put in a SRM program and imbed processes to the wider team
  • Be responsible for future recruitment and team design

Experience & requirements:

  • Multi-national, FTSE, blue chip F&B or FMCG industry experience
  • Broad categories - ingredients, packaging, Capex, directs and indirects
  • Team leadership - looking after fairly large teams, mentoring, improving analysing performance
  • Experience in complex negotiations at senior levels / large spends
  • Strategic sourcing experience, rather than only tactical & operational
  • Able to manage different people and build effect internal relationships
  • Able to travel across EU as and when needed
  • SAP Experience is fairly critical
  • Degree educated, and/or CIPS qualified
