The successful candidate will join our Hotels Reservations Agent team and be responsible for providing efficient and courteous reservations service in a fast paced, customer focussed environment.


  • To enter booking inquiries on to the reservation system in the approved manner, making concise notes to enable any member of the team to administer the booking
  • Use the "Work In Progress" (WIP) tool effectively, in accordance with procedures and to the specific requirement of each booking, so that conformity of standard is achieved
  • Seek and identify prospects for increased revenue opportunities through any additional services that can be offered to aid the client
  • Be fully aware of client specific SLA’s and always work in a way that exceeds them
  • Offer fantastic Customer service at all times
  • Actively seek, maintain and grow relationships within the client base and continually look for additional opportunities to increase or repeat business
  • Ensure that all company profiles and traveller preferences are always loaded correctly and utilised to consistently meet client requirements
  • Be familiar with client programmes and preferred partners, using product knowledge and initiative to offer the most commercially beneficial options
  • Ensure that clients are kept informed of the progress of their bookings and that associated documents are correctly communicated to clients and venues within the agreed time spans
  • Effectively communicate to your Team Manager any client, venue or service issues, so they may be addressed with Client Management as appropriate
  • Ensure your Team Manager is kept up to date with booking patterns and projects
  • Identify opportunities and relay ideas and information to your Team Manager
  • Maintain own awareness of any busy dates due to local or regional events
  • Be aware of any promotional offer that could provide better rates or increased commission
  • To assist the Meeting, Events and Groups Team as and when required
  • To assist with travel bookings in the approved manner when required
  • Undertake other duties where required by your line manager to ensure the smooth running of the Operations Department


  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage workloads in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
  • Computer literate with good MS office skills
  • Confident communicator (written and verbal) with the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Good team player with excellent customer service orientation
  • Exceptional planning and organisational skills, with keen attention to detail
  • High energy and enthusiasm, results oriented and able to deliver to deadlines
  • Take responsibility for own self-development, demonstrate a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in developing a business travel career
