I am working with a very niche Firm of Accountants based in London an easy walk from Charing Cross Station who are looking to appoint an Assistant Manager. This is an exciting appointment as the Firm are looking for someone to complement their team of skilled and talented individuals. This role will offer exposure to an exciting client base and portfolio where you will be involved with some very interesting clients and projects. They are looking for an experience individual with ACA or ACCA qualifications. Your role will involve managing a portfolio of clients, working within their growing international outsourcing team. You will provide direct supervision and leadership to a large team and review monthly management accounts. You will have had good all round outsourcing and management accounting exposure and be looking for a forward thinking, fast paced mid-tier Central London firm where you can progress your career.

You will be joining an established team, managing your own client portfolio within a multidisciplinary practice, liaising with international clients and affiliates and supporting senior team members. We are specifically looking for someone who wants to make a real impact on their work environment, who can proactively identify and suggest improvements on processes.

You will be responsible for :
Full review of management accounts, reports and VAT returns, ensuring technical accuracy and any anomalies investigated and resolved
Control of a portfolio of clients, ensuring all client reporting and payment deadlines are met, WIP and recoverability levels are acceptable and special bills are agreed and promptly raised for any out of contract work
Managing the onboarding of new client from an accounting and administrative perspective
Assisting the Management team in the day to day running of the team
Supervision of team members, ensuring they are completing their work accurately, providing guidance where necessary
Dealing with technical queries
Review online BACs payment submissions
Assist with researching accounting innovations for efficiency e.g. cloud based products
Assist with contract reviews and fee negotiations

It is essential that you are ACA or ACCA qualified with post-qualification experience
Have worked in an outsourcing team within practice, looking after a portfolio of clients including strong experience of reviewing monthly management accounts prepared by junior team members, with strong leadership and managerial attributes
Experience of supervising staff
Strong IT skills and excellent knowledge of excel and Xero
Good VAT knowledge
Ability to manage staff as well as own tasks, good time management and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
Excellent communication skills and confidence when dealing with clients
