Like to join the management team at our family run hotel as a Duty Manager? Our hotel is centrally located in Wick, in the far north of Scotland, surrounded by stunning landscapes, with history dating back to the Picts and protected peatlands.
The surrounding area of Wick offers golfing, trout and salmon fishing, archaeological sites, remote fishing villages with plenty of history and a reputation for being a retreat and more. Its an ideal place to bring up children with clean air and good schools. Local amenities include; swimming pool, gym, tennis courts, squash courts and if you prefer the outdoors we have plenty open spaces to explore. Two hours drive from Inverness the capital of the Highlands of Scotland, Wick has both bus, rail and air links.
Our historic building been complemented by contemporary refurbishment and furnishings. As well as 30 bedrooms, 5 apartments and 3 villas in the hotel portfolio there is a bar, bistro, restaurant and function room.
As a Duty Manager, you will ensure that the highest standards of hospitality and welcome are demonstrated at all times on the front desk and throughout the hotel. You will report directly to the Manager/Owners and have a degree of autonomy in dealing with Customer Comments and Complaints.
Your Duties Will Include
serving food and drink, check in and check outs, billing, answering telephones, where necessary. Proven customer service skills are essential, with an enthusiastic, flexible approach. Excellent organizational skills with ability to retain a calm overview whilst being friendly and personable are essential to the role, people are important to us. Flexibility is required to work shifts. As this is a small hotel each member of the management team takes a hands on approach to the running of the property: so you will need to be able to delegate, take care of your responsibilities and importantly share responsibility with the rest of our friendly team.
You'll work busy shifts like everyone else at least a 43 hour week, but most likely whatever it takes to get the job done.
