Assistant Management Accountant

The successful applicant will ensure the appropriate processing and data inputting of accounts entries in addition to office management. You will support UK HQ with administration and financial process functions improvements as well as dealing with suppliers, customers, and Sales & Operations staff. You will be a key member who will work closely with UK Financial Controller ensuring monthly management accounts are accurate and reflective of business performance.

Budget for training towards professional accountancy qualification may be provided via studies funding with a long term view to see through the successful applicant to full professional accountancy qualification

Responsibilities
Finance (80%)

• Month End duties
• Balance Sheet reconciliations
• P&L variance analysis
• Ensuring purchase and sales ledger processing is accurate and complete
• Processing monthly staff expenses
• Chasing of outstanding Sales Invoices in down time
• Assisting the UK Financial Controller with production of monthly/year-end financial management reports
• VAT returns
• Assisting the UK Financial Controller with payroll

Office Management (20%)
• Managing filing systems
• Build close relationships with vendors to ensure best levels of service and competitive pricing by them
• Build close relationships with customers to ensure best levels of service
• Build close and effective working relationships with internal clients
• Analyse existing working practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements
• Ensuring Office phone is answered as promptly as possible
• Monitoring and re-ordering office supplies, stamps and tea, milk and coffee etc
• Dealing with all post
• Helping to maintain standard of office including liaison with management of cleaning contractor

Success Criteria
• 2-3 years’ experience within a finance function
• Good Excel skills to include pivot tables, look-ups and formulae
• Experience with AX Dynamics (desirable)
• Methodical, accurate, consistent attention to detail
• Part qualified in accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) is desirable - Funding provided
• AAT Qualified (desirable but not essential)
• Payroll Experience
• Solid Administration skills
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, flexibility and commitment
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage time and tasks efficiently
• Resilient to cope with conflicting demands, able to prioritise duties and work effectively under pressure while remaining calm and professional at all times
• Able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach
• The ability to create effective working relationships quickly
