Job Title: Programme Tutor / Assessor

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri9am - 5pm

Salary:£23,000 + Bonus + Mileage Allowance + Laptop + Phone

Location: Based in Newcastle Office - must be willing to travel on occasion to meet the needs of the business.

Function: Responsible for tutoring, supporting and monitoring learners on pre-employment training programmes across Customer Service, Hospitality, Aviation and Contact Centre industries. To deliver a range of workshops covering CV writing, interview skills and job preparation to a diverse range of learners. Applications are welcomed from candidates who are confident and creative, have a high level of communication with an ability to develop a range of accredited and unaccredited qualifications.

Reporting to: Programme Manager

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Deliver bespoke sector-based skills workshops including induction, tutoring, administration and liaison with learners
  • Develop skills and empower job seekers supporting them into employment
  • Assess learner’s knowledge and collect portfolio of evidence for accreditation
  • Assist in planning and design of pre-employment programmes for employer and school programmes
  • Support Recruitment Manager in marketing and recruitment activities related to pre-employment training programmes
  • Keep up to date with developments in vocational training and the local labour market
  • Maintain and update learner records to the required standard
  • Responsible for any other duties as required in order to effectively carry out the role

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Experience of preparing and delivering skills and learning courses and preferably be from a learning and development/training background
  • Experience of and comfortable with delivering to groups of approx. 10 - 15 customers
  • Relevant teaching qualification; PTLLS / CTLLS / DTLLS / Cert Ed / PGCE
  • Demonstrate the ability to work towards awarding body/OFSTED standards
  • Driving License and access to own vehicle

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Assessor (A1) or Verifier (V1) or Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocational Acheivement
  • Experience of welfare to work sector
  • Experience of providing IAG/Coaching
