Opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing contractor based in Barry.
Your new company
You will be joining a specialist contractor during a period of rapid growth. The company began as a painting and decorating contractor but evolved and expanded to offer multiple building trades, allowing them to offer a full package. The vast majority of the projects are commercial developments.
The company is based in Barry, however continued success has enabled them to service projects nationally. The office and teams out on site are very well connected and offer a friendly working environment. With continued success and growth, the company is always looking to help staff flourish and progress.
Your new role
As a QS / estimator you will be responsible for estimating costs, labour resources, materials and duration of works, whilst maintaining accurate accounts of the work being completed on site for invoicing purposes.
You will liaise with the 20+ foreman on site regarding valuations, progress on site and requirements. You will also work closely with 2 of the contracts managers and the commercial director to evaluate subcontractor accounts and agree commercial forecasts for individual projects. The role is predominantly office based, with the occasional travel required to visit sites where work is being conducted.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have experience as a QS and/or Estimator covering all functions mentioned above, ideally within the painting and decorating industry but not essential. You must be able to manage multiple time sensitive tasks at once whilst maintaining quality and attention to detail.
A degree or HND in Quantity Surveying will be advantageous, but relevant experience is just as important.
What you'll get in return
You will be offered a salary of up to £26K, which is negotiable depending upon experience, plus performance related bonuses.
Due to continued growth and success, there is room for progression and development within the organisation - now would be the perfect time to join.
