IT Technician | 20-25k | Wellington | Support | TCP/IP Networking | Data Security

This position is a new opportunity for a company that is growing rapidly expanding its services and staff, so it's an active time to get involved within the business. You will be part of a small growing team of I.T. Technicians involved in all aspects of internal computer system & network support.

This is a diverse role requiring the day-to-day support for staff PCs and network systems, including hardware and software for approximately 150 users. You will be providing technical support via telephone, email and face-to face.

Principal Activities:
 Investigating and remedying computer hardware & software faults on Servers and Workstations.
 Installing and configuring hardware and software.
 Preparing PCs, laptops, mobile phones, etc… for new employees.
 Following pre-defined procedures and documentation to aid timely task resolution.
 Performing routine security checks.
 Responding to technical help requests from employees at all seniority levels.
 Working with other I.T. staff on projects.

The experience of the following is essential:
 Providing I.T. support to end users (2 years+)
 Microsoft Active Directory
 Group Policy
 TCP/IP Networking
 Windows Server administration
 Windows 7, 8 and 10 desktop support
 Installing software and printers on end-user PCs.

Experience of the following is desirable but not essential:
 Microsoft Exchange
 Mobile Device Management
 Firewall and VPN technologies
 Cisco switching
 Microsoft SQL Server (administering and writing queries)
 Virtualisation (HyperV and/or VMWare)
 Information Security training/project experience

This is a full-time role, 08:30-17:30 Monday-Friday. Free parking, generous company pension and 20 days working holiday + bank holidays. On occasion, some travel to other offices may be required, so although it's not essential that you can drive, it would be mildly advantageous. We are looking for someone flexible who is willing to work outside of regular office hours, e.g. to avoid disruption to staff during a network upgrade but this only happens on rare occasions and is not the normal routine.
