We are seeking a motivated individual with strong Microsoft server expertise who is passionate about Unified Communications technology to join our customers Unified Communications engineering team. You will be responsible for creating best practice technical designs that describe the way their products are delivered. You will be a champion of those products and designs within the company and to their external partners and customers, by helping their sales team determine the right solutions for their customers, providing consultancy advice directly to customers about the products, and guiding the delivery and technical implementation of solutions. The role includes product technical support responsibilities, working within their ITIL service management function as an escalation engineer, to resolve incidents and problems which cannot be resolved by the first tier of engineering support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

*Identifies, analyses, and documents business/technical requirements and systems specifications.
*Creates and performs software coding.
*Creates and enforces software quality standards.
*Implements/deploys information systems.
*Generates suggestions for process/product improvement. Communicates status of assigned work to management and follows practices and procedures covered by precedents, standards, or policies.
*Develops an awareness of systems and operating area interrelationships.
*Ensures the efficient development of effective information systems through a variety of duties including generation/presentation of user's training material, expansion of knowledge applicable to technical platforms and applications, and the maintenance of solid working relationships with business areas.
*The position will be responsible for driving decisions relating to architectural design, changes, and future planning.

Complete understanding and working knowledge of the following:
*Unified Communications: Lync 2010/2013, Exchange 2010/2013, Sharepoint 2010/2013
*Microsoft: Active Directory Administration, Certification, Group Policy, Microsoft Server 2008/2012, Windows 7/8, SharePoint, Virtualisation technologies, SQL
*Telephony: Voice configuration of Lync server and integration of Lync to SIPCOM's voice networks
*Security: Network and Application Security, Firewall technologies, SPAM, Anti Virus, SMTP Security
*Networking: TCP / IP / DNS / DHCP / SIP / TLS, Virtual Private Networks VPN
*Identify and resolve all Lync and other Microsoft application issues; create and maintain documentation of the root cause of any problem in the Lync environment using company knowledge management systems where appropriate
*Perform after hours and/or weekend maintenance activities as scheduled; conducting system tests after applying patches, software installs, upgrades or hardware installs or upgrades.
