Metro Safety is the UK’s leading provider of essential fire and health and safety services for commercial properties is looking to recruit an experienced Credit Controller on a permanent basis.

Purpose of the Role

The Credit Controller is responsible for supporting the effective day-to-day running of the credit control department. The credit control department has the responsibility for ensuring that the company’s debtors are collected in a timely manner, and non-payment risks are identified and resolved quickly. This role contributes to the effectiveness of managing Metro’s cash resources, as such this role is crucial.

As a Credit Controller your tasks will include but are not limited to:-

Liaising with external clients by telephone, letter and e-mail on payment of overdue invoices

Chasing outstanding debts

Reducing aged debt

Reconciliation of customer accounts

Cash and cheque allocation

Liaising with customers to resolve any queries

Working with other teams within the business to ensure delays to payments by customers are eliminated

To learn other finance department responsibilities to a standard to be able to deputise as necessary

To work as a team, and support each other, during busy periods

Other adhoc duties as required

To be considered for this role you must:-

Have experience with working within Credit Control

Excel knowledge

Be able to build relationships

Strong communication skills

Good team player

Have a passion for delivering excellent customer service
